I want to be able to add a layout to my Sway that allows me to create Dates and Text/Media then scroll through it like a timeline.229 votes
It would be great if Sway offered an API.
I would LOVE to have tools to make templates or styles and give them out or at least edit my own sways in an advanced mode.191 votes
Interesting. Ok- if Sway offered an API what would you love for it to do and what would you expect to do with it?

I would like to add quick self-correcting questions (multiple choice or fill in blanks) to my Sway. This would be an awesome feature for use in educational / e-learning contexts.171 votes
We’ve made some improvements in this space and we now allow you to embed PollEverywhere.com to have live polls in your Sways! Read more about it here: https://blogs.office.com/2016/02/19/sway-adds-access-to-recent-office-documents-support-for-power-bi-and-polleverywhere-com-embeds-text-editing-updates-and-more/. I'm writing a scientific description of metabolic processes, and I'd like to be able to have superscripts and scientific characters (alpha, beta, gamma), multiplication via "dot" symbol etc. For example, I'd like to write -57 kJ * mol-1 and have that formatted automatically by Sway. I suspect that there will be some folks who will want to use Sway to present technical information, and this would be super helpful. Additionally, I'd like to just type things vs. having to use UI to generate the symbols that I want. So for example, I'd like to type delta G prime = -57 kJ*mol-1, and have that formatted automatically for me. That would be AWESOME.

Good points! We will keep on working on ensuring that our users are able to use Sway in professional/educational scenarios.
add voice narration to images and/or sway documents like word excel ppt, for example want to comment on an image to explain to students/viewers more details about it151 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We are pleased to announce that we now allow you to add audio with an audio card. This is the first step towards allowing narration and linking it with a picture. If you’d like to see any additional audio features, please open new suggestions to help us prioritize our future improvements in this space. :)
I would like the ability to change the formatting of the navigation for individual sections, allowing me to scroll up and down between sections, but right and left in a particular section (or vice-versa). Right now it is an all one way or the other.150 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We have a preview Sway that we were experimenting with a bit to pioneer this concept: https://sway.com/wood_burning. Let us know what you think in the comments!
I'd like a second line in the block "header" to add a subtitle or subheading to my content.141 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We are working on adding a way to add subheadings to Sways, and truly appreciate your user feedback.
Re-size images, apply shapes and effects to images is necessary.115 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Have you tried modifying the image and changing its intensity to re-size it? What kinds of shapes and effects do you have in mind? If you’re interested in these features, let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
Adding a subset of PowerPoints animations will help engage those reading our Sways. eg Pan+Zoom, header scroll, fade in / out etc.
Obviously there's a fine line between ease of creation and fully customizable options, keeping the animation selection to a minimum would b prudent.95 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! What do you think about some of the animations in this Sway: https://sway.com/northwest_aquarium ?
We want to continue to make Sways more engaging by increasing the types of animations we support, so thanks for pointing out some important ones to us! Let us know in the comments what else you would like to see Sway support. :)
At the moment writing text offers very basic functionalities. I would like to have more options to enter text like possibility to change character style (italic, underline, linethrough, double-line).
Better handling of images in the flow with the possibility to have text adapt around the image and have images positioned in different ways with respect to the text flow. This should be applied to any media actually: twitter posts, videos etc.91 votes
Thanks for the feedback! Make sure you submit votes for the text formatting idea to cover your first point.
I'm a developer and current solutions for live coding or showing a demo involving source code do not necessarily fit my needs. A lot of my colleagues use PowerPoint to relay code snippets or documentation to other people, but it always felt like the wrong solution to the problem. I was hoping that sway could include several features for this - syntax highlighting, live coding support, clean style templates etc.89 votes
Thanks for supporting this idea! We’re investigating a bit further, and it would really help us if people who were interested in this feature could fill out this short survey: https://aka.ms/codesurvey . Thanks for your time!
Cropping isn't just about picking what shows up in the Sway stream, it's also about eliminating/censoring parts of the picture so they can't be seen even when you drill in to the photo. When picking photos from one of my online accounts, it's super bandwidth intensive and time consuming to download a 1-5MB photo, open it in MSPaint etc, crop it, re-save it with a different filename, and upload it. Focus points are great, but they solve a different problem than cropping.75 votes
Good point! Thanks for the suggestion.
ability to have more control over the layout75 votes
The Sway team wants to make content groups in Sway work better for you. We’d like to learn from you – whether you use groups in Sway, how you use them, what you like and what you’d like to see changed.

Noted. Thanks for the feedback!
It would be great if we can enable spell checking when creating pages.70 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Have you tried using the browsers alternate spelling suggestions when you’re creating a Sway? Are you running into any problems with this? Let us know in the comments!
Sometimes I´d like to share ideas with people around the globe (especially in my professional life). So it would be great to have the chance to add textboxes in different languages and a toogle-switch within my sway.63 votes
Thanks for bringing this up. We appreciate the thoughts and suggestions.
For example: showing hierarchical data, flows, good/bad choices ...38 votes

Need robust paste from most common apps, e.g. when I paste from Office apps, I loose all formatting.38 votes
I think I can use sway for compelling presentation of technical and business information, but much of my content is in Visio and exporting to raster format like PNG to import in Sway is far from ideal (poor zoom in / details experience, large file size).33 votes
Sounds like a great idea. Let’s see if others share it!
