Title and Header Cards

Title Card

The first Card in each Sway is your Title Card. The Title Card, as the name suggest, represents the title of your Sway.

The Title Card is special in that it allows you to add a background image to the title. Adding a background image is optional, as is typing in a title, but if you do both it can help make your Sway look great.

You can add a background image by either clicking the Background Image placeholder on the Title Card or dragging an Image Card, a Card representing an image, into the Background image placeholder.

Insider tip:  Sway supports animated GIFs.  Animated GIFs as backgrounds can create some amazing effects.

Note you can’t reorder, delete, select, or add a layout to a Title Card.

Changing the layout of the Title Card is a feature being considered for the future.

Header Card

Header Cards are similar to Title Cards in that they allow you to add a background image to the header. Adding Header Cards to your Sway will divide your Sway into sections, which will be represented as a Collection Card within Storyline. In your Sway, we strongly encourage you to use header cards, as they help provide visual structure to your ideas, chapters, sections, topics, etc, in a much more engaging way.

You can 'promote' text from within a text card to a header card, by selecting the text and tapping on the Header command on the text toolbar.

This text can be promot d into a header card - tapping Header on the menu above.

Alternatively, you can change a text card into a header card via the Layout command, by choosing the Header option.

Note at this time only one line of text is possible within a header card.
